This week’s GoonGames was themed around Alpha 365!

Here’s Joey’s full breakdown of Alpha 365 on the Supplement Lab YouTube channel:

Questions:

Q1: In men, testosterone normally peaks in age:

Answer: 20

I know some of you wanted the answer to be 35, but unfortunately, testosterone levels in men peak at age 17-20. After peak years pass, testosterone slowly declines and this is perfectly normal. It has been suggested that a 1% decrease in testosterone level per year is not unusual for a middle-aged (30 to 50) and older males. Sometimes this decrease is not very noticeable but in others, it may translate to significant changes. Low testosterone can result in a decline in physical energy, strength, stamina, and diminished mental aggressiveness. Some men also may notice they have more aches and pains in their body, weight gain, a decline in libido and sex drive, and osteoporosis. Alpha 365 was designed for ages 25 and up to help men with some of the problems associated with unbalanced testosterone levels.

In general, the normal range of testosterone levels is about 270-1070 ng/dL with an average level of 679 ng/dL. Testosterone levels above or below the normal range are considered by many to be “out of balance.” Some researches suggest that the healthiest men have testosterone levels between 400-600 ng/dL.

Q2: Which ingredient in Alpha 365 is traditionally used as a natural aphrodisiac and to increase testosterone levels in the body?

Answer: Bulbine Natalensis

Bulbine Natalensis is an herb that originated in southern regions of Africa and has been traditionally used as an aphrodisiac- basically helping increasing libido and sex drive. In addition to increasing sexual drive, Bubine Natalensis has also been sufficient in increasing testosterone levels. Three rat studies (linked below) note significant increases in circulating testosterone, a decrease in estrogen, and shown to exhibit androgenic and anabolic activities from supplementation of Bulbine Natalensis. Here are some links to studies that I've referenced here so you can learn more about the wonders of Bulbine Natalensis:

Q3: Which of the following is an Element

Answer: Boron

Boron is a chemical element with symbol B and atomic number 5! Boron is a product entirely by cosmic ray spallation and supernovae. It is a low-abundant element in the Solar System and in the Earth’s core. Boron has also used a mineral in supplementation to build strong bones, treating osteoarthritis, aids in building muscle, increasing testosterone levels in men, and for improving thinking skills and muscle coordination. Boron is inside of Alpha 365 specifically for its anti-estrogen support.

Q4: Which ingredient in alpha for libido enhancement can exhibit these indirect effects:

  • Reducing Fat Mass

  • Improving maximal strength

  • Reducing symptoms of fatigue

  • Supports bone mineralization

  • Lowers cortisol

Answer: Tongkat Ali

Apparently, I confused a LOT of you guys with this question, so let's get into the nitty-gritty of it. I went on the hunt for a wide variety of studies that showed some indirect effects of Eurycoma Longifolia Extract(Tongkat Ali) to find some other ways this ingredient can help other than libido support. I added in a giveaway answer in the question to really hit this answer home: Support bone mineralization. Since sex steroids play a crucial role in the development and maintenance of the skeletal system in humans and animals, I wanted to show how an ingredient like Tongkat Ali can help reduce skeletal deterioration. I found a study that showed that standardized quassinoid-rich Eurycoma Longifolia extract can be considered as effective as testosterone in reducing bone degenerative changes in androgen-deficient osteoporosis models. In another study I found interesting, lead to Tongkat Ali extract helps improve stress hormone profiles and certain mood state parameters. This study resulted in significant improvements in -11% in Tension, -12% in Anger, -15% in Confusion, a -16% cortisol exposure, and +37% in testosterone status. I have linked all the studies below that I referenced in this question if you would like to learn more about the indirect benefits of Eurycoma Longifolia!
